Kings Mill House is situated on a quiet no-through road close to the heart of Great Shelford and alongside the River Cam. Great Shelford provides an excellent variety of local shops for everyday needs including a butcher, convenience store, award-winning deli, grocer, chemist, restaurants and public houses. The village is just 4.8 miles to the south of the high tech University City of Cambridge. There is a direct cycle path alongside farmland and the railway to Addenbrookes Hospital and the newly established Medi-Park to the south of the City and onto Cambridge station.

There is a primary school in the village and further schooling for all age groups in the area including notable independent schools in Cambridge such as St Faiths, The Perse CoEd, The Stephen Perse, King’s College and St John’s prep schools, The Leys and St Mary’s.

For the commuter there are regular train services available from Great Shelford station leading to Cambridge and London Liverpool Street stations. Services to King’s Cross are available from Cambridge station.

Cambridge is a beautiful city with immense cultural heritage and comprehensive shopping and recreational facilities including the recently completed Grand Arcade shopping mall. The M11 is 3 miles away (Junction 11) which leads south to the M25 and London and north to the A14 which connects with the A1/M1 and M6. Stansted Airport is 24 miles to the south situated off Junction 8 of the M11.

Description

Kings Mill House is a substantial Georgian property dating from 1825. The property has handsome brick elevations under a slate tiled roof and the balanced proportions typical of a Georgian country house. Internally, Kings Mill House has elegant well proportioned accommodation laid out over two floors, the whole extending to 5, 887 sq ft.

The present owners have carried out extensive yet sympathetic renovations to the house including kitchen and bathroom replacement and refurbishment, a new heating system, re-plumbing and re-wiring. Kings Mill Cottage
To the north side of the house there is an adjoining cottage which provides good secondary accommodation including a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and shower room. Outside

The property is approached via a meandering gravel in and out drive towards the end of Kings Mill Lane. The driveway passes through a central lawn flanked by mature trees and well stocked borders. Directions

From London proceed north up the M11 to Junction 10, the Duxford interchange. Take the A505 eastwards and at the second roundabout turn left onto the Sawston bypass. Proceed into Stapleford and then into Great Shelford and at the cross roads turn left along the High Street. At the end bear left into Church Street and after the right hand bend the entrance to Kings Mill Lane is found on the left hand side. Kings Mill House is located towards the end of this no-through road on the left hand side.

From Cambridge proceed south on the Trumpington Road turning left to The Shelfords. Continue on this road for about two miles and then after passing over the railway bridge bear right into High Street. Continue along this road which turns into Church Street, and the property is found as above.
